Biography
Annerös Hulliger spent her youth in Dürrenroth, canton Emmental. She was encouraged by many to play the piano at her parents guesthouse. The guests were not impartial to a little melodic entertainment following a wholesome Sunday lunch. The way to church was not far and from then on she focussed completely upon playing the organ. Her musical studies, however, followed only after a solid professional training and many years experience as a primary school teacher.
Following basic instruction under Edwin Peter and Heinz BaIli (concert and teacher's diploma) and further instruction under the European master organists M.C. Alain, A. Heiller, L.F. Tagliavini and H. Vogel, she concentrated wholly on the assembly of her repertoire, a repertoire for which she still endeavours to discover new and unusual scores to perform in her numerous concerts. This search has spanned her whole 20 year career as a concert organist (with concerts in Germany, Austria, Finland, Denmark, France, Italy and Switzerland), as a course lecturer and organiser and director of well attended trips under the title 'All About the Organ'.
CD recordings of her performances on important Swiss organs (recordings in the minster Mun in Argau, Manastein in Solothurn, Rheinau in Zurich, the parish churches of Zurzach, Leuggem, Tägeng, Alt St.Johann, Münster, Reckingen, Blatten/Lötschental, the churches of Lauenen, Amsoldingen, Köniz, Bolligen and on Bernese house organs) are the melodic results of her intensive preoccupation. Further samples of her fascination with musical rarities have been published as manuscript books under the title 'Musik aus dem alten Bern', an edition series by Annerös Hulliger and the Bernese music publishers 'Müller und Schade'.
