The Trio O'Henry was formed at the 'Hochschule für Musik und Theater Zürich' (School of Music and Theatre in Zurich) while its members were studying in the master classes of Matthias Weilenmann and Kees Boeke.
With its broad repertoire ranging from Middle Age through to contemporary music, colourful, diversified programmes and many idiosyncratic arrangements the Trio O'Henry is fast becoming one of the most internationally demanded recorder ensembles.
Consequently the Trio O'Henry has received prizes at national and international competitions including from the International Recorder Competition Calw/Germany, Kiwanis Chamber Music Prize Zurich/Switzerland, Swiss Orpheus Promotions Prize, Migros Chamber Music Prize and 'Premio Bonporti' in Rovereto/Italy.
Since then the Trio O'Henry has enthused audiences and press at numerous concerts at home and abroad and is regularly invited to participate in workshops and on tours (incl. Poland, Bulgaria, Morocco, Czechia, Russia and Italy). With its present cast the ensemble made its debut with great success in the summer of 2002 at the Kremlin in Moscow.
The Trio O'Henry, in addition to its trio programme, also realises projects in cooperation with other musicians and ensembles and assigns commissions for compositions to propagate the contemporary flute repertoire.
The ensemble recorded chamber music works by Kees Boeke for the CD 'Monografia' published by the Italian label 'o-live-music'.
