Biography
Markus Wettstein lives in Berlin. His field of interest lies in the area of tension between composition and improvisation. He is a member of several ensembles and has a fascination for the sounds of metal objects, which he partly combines with live electronics. He has a particular interest in non-tempered systems, micro intervals and every possible shading of the noise character of sound. Spatial aspects often take a leading role in his works. In addition to composition and improvisation, Wettstein's sphere of activity also encompasses performance and multi-media works.
