Caudio Cavadini was born in Mendrisio (canton Tessin). He received his composer's diploma from the Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna, where his name is also entered into their composer's book of honours. He has found success as an author of symphonic works, chamber music, pieces for choir, texts and music for didactical purposes and has also created adaptations of unpublished Italian works from the XVII and XVIII centuries. He has received countless commissions for music from music organisations and radio stations; it is thus that he came to conduct the world premiere of his composition "Invitatio ad Miserere" in 1982, a piece commissioned by the "Settimane internazionali" of Ascona. As an expert for musical education at a middle school in the canton of Tessin and as a teacher at the Höheren Pädagogischen Lehranstalt of Locarno his commitment to musical education is clear. His works on musical education from pre-school to high school have been published both in Switzerland and in Italy. In his role as a music researcher and revisor of Italian pieces of music from the XVII and XVIII centuries Caudio Cavadini has breathed new life into the works of Centorio, Bissone and Brusaschi.
