Born in Szeghalom (Hungary). He studied music in Békéstarhos and continued his musical education at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. He received his doctorate in 1958 as a student of Endre Szervánsky and subsequently taught at the music school. He belongs to the editing team of the Editio Musica Budapest, which is responsible for the new Liszt complete edition. His compositions are for the most part aimed at youngsters.
