Biography

Jörg Ewald Dähler attended school in Langnau (Emmental), teacher training in Hofwil (Bern) and received his teaching diploma in piano from Bern Conservatory, he also studied harpsichord in Freiburg im Breisgau. He was laureate in Munich in 1963 and appointed positions teaching harpsichord, thorough bass, chamber music and choir leading at Bern Conservatory and the Schola Cantorum, Bern. In 1968 he co-founded the Claves-Verlag, founded the 'Berner Rathauskonzerte' and directed this from 1965 until 1998. He has been director of the Bern Chamber Choir since 1974. Dähler won the culture prize offered by the canton of Bern and the Externe Medaille of the Burgergemeinde in Bern.
