Alfred Ehrismann was born in Winterthur, 1926 and died in July 2015. Following his undergraduate studies he studied music at Winterthur Conservatory, the University of Zurich and the Conservatoire Nationale de Paris under Lazare-lévy. Alfred Cortot and in particular his friend Edwin Fischer played significant roles in his further development. After 1947 he performed at home and abroad in piano recitals and as a chamber musician and soloist in symphony concerts under the direction of Volkmar Andreae, R.F. Denzler, Desarzens, Galliera, Münch, Erich Schmid and others. Ehrismann taught at the Winterthur / Zurich School of Music.
