Horde (2011)

Instrumentation: for ensemble, voices and electronics

Texts: Alain Damasio

Influenced by Alain Damasio's science-fiction novel "La Horde du Contrevent" (2004) that was extremely successful in France, Tara has composed a kind of musical battle for survival, in which the different groups (voices, instruments, electronics) fight to be heard and articulate themselves. Groups are formed, or extreme registers visited in order to be better understood. In this social game, a continuum that existed at the outset is increasingly torn apart and transformed into individual, tension-filled, musical and societal events.
