* 15. 11. 1962.

Stefan Feingold was born in Bern. He studied the classic guitar and transverse flute at the Fribourg Conservatory. He undertook further training in Vienna and Salzburg (Pepe Romero). He studied composition at the 'Musikhochschule Wien' (Vienna School of Music). This, while studying under Herbert Zagler, enabled him to work on various commissions for various chamber and orchestral scores. He received a special prize for composition at the International Music Seminar for New Music in Vienna in 1992. He has performed numerous solo and chamber concerts in Europe Israel, Japan, Australia, USA and Kuba.

The work is based on the final chord of the James Bond theme tune.
James Bond is a guy who is constantly jetting around the globe in the hope of saving the world. He sometimes attempts to place himself within other worlds and on other planets – a fascinating aspect for me.
This work is dedicated to the anemos-Gitarrenquartett and the Swiss Association of Musicians.

The inspiration for this three-part piece came from a quill drawing in a sketchbook by Pablo Picasso. The tile of the drawing is "Trois études de guitare". My idea was to adapt the sound of a guitar to a string quartet.
