Elias Davidsson was born in Palestine and lives, since 1962, in Iceland. He has been composing since his early childhood and studied piano in Cologne, Freiburg and Basel under the tutelage of Klaus Huber, Janka and Jürg Wyttenbach, Jacques Wildberger, Thomas Kessler and Roland Moser et al. His works have been performed in Switzerland, Germany, France and Iceland. He plays the piano, accordion and the lithophone.
Within the framework of his teaching, music pedagogic and choir directing activities, Davidsson has composed many pieces for his students and choirs. Until present there exist in excess of 20 collections for piano, string instruments and woodwind instruments comprised of his compositions for children and published by the author himself (Tonar-og-steinar). His work is widely prevalent in the whole of Europe, but most particularly in Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Denmark and Iceland.
Elias Davidsson currently lives in Reykjavik as a freelance composer in addition to his intensive involvement with the rights of man.
