Dennis Kuhn's compositional work, the focus of which is often based on rhythmical elements, encompasses chamber music, orchestral and electronic music but most of all concentrates on works for stage including those created by commission for the Manheim National Theatre such as the spectacular music for Philippe Talard's dance piece "Der Seiltänzer" (with "Highlight" 16th Patterns and TME 308), the arrangement of the divertissiments from Tschaikowsky's "Nutcracker" for 5 percussionists under the title "Chocolate with Tschaikowsky" (TME 304) and in 1997/98 a multi-part Prometheus cycle for large orchestra (TME 911).
