Felix Falkner was born in St. Gallen. After teacher training he studied at the Zurich Conservatory taking violoncello as his main subject. Parallel to this he was given private training in choir and orchestral conducting. He received special influence from Josef Haselbach and Daniel Glaus. Since 1991 he is active as a cellist, conductor, educationalist and as a freelance music critic and programme writer. He compiled the catalogue of works for Albert Moeschinger. Since 1998 he is librarian at the 'Musikhochschule Zürich' (Zurich School of Music). In 1994 and 1998 he received a financial award from the city of St. Gallen. 2003 financial award from Kanton St.Gallen.
