Biografia
* 30. 12. 1943.
Initially a language teacher and self-taught jazz pianist Fredi Lüscher has been a professional musician since 1985. His main interest lies, besides the art of improvisation, with the compositions of Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Carla Bley, Jimmy Giuffre amongst others. Lüscher performs in a duo together with Nathanael Su and in a trio together with Marco Kaeppeli and Daniel Studer.

Primer Festival International Montevideo (1992), Festival Intime II (Radio DRS II/1993), Ton Art Bern (1994), Le Jazz se fait label Paris (1997), Jazzherbst Konstanz (1998), Canaille Frankfurt (1998), Jazzfestival Schaffhausen (1998), Festival ALTRISUONI Balerna (1999). Tours in Iran (2001 and 2002), Festival Unerhoert! Zurich (2003 und 2004). Ellington/Bley/Monk - Programme with Nathanael Su (as) (2005).
1998 until 2000 - Newsletter editor of the 'Schweizer Musik Syndikats' (occupational union of Swiss improvising musicians)
Since 2000 - Contributions to the 'mhs aktuell' (Lucerne School of Music's newsletter)
2002 - Project manager of a research project at Lucerne School of Music (faculty III) into the aquisition of jazz and improvised music by the stations of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation and composer of a study bearing the same name.
