Biography

The freelance tenor Tino Brütsch performs profusely at home and abroad, for the most part with oratorio, lieder and chamber music pieces. He appears frequently with small ensembles and formations of varying instrumentation to perform music from all eras. In 1999 Tino Brütsch received his solo singing teacher's diploma under the tutelage of Kurt Huber and completed postgraduate studies in 2002 in the class of Christoph Prégardien at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater (HMT) Zurich, graduating with a distinction in concert performance.
Tino Brütsch has developed a broad repertoire. Over the past years he has performed in over 80 concerts per year including the Monteverdi vespers, Bach's oratorios and diverse cantatas, Händel's Messiah, the Mozart Requiem, all of Mendelssohn's oratorios, Bruckner's Mass in f minor, the In Terra Pax, Golgatha and Le vin herbé by Frank Martin, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Erwin from Erwin & Elmire by Schoeck, parts of the Jewish folk poetry by Schostakovich, Britten's St Nicolas and Pärt's St John Passion and gave diverse lieder evenings with works from Schubert, Schumann, Baumgartner, Schönberg, Strauss, Weber, Beethoven, Britten, Tippett, Trümpy and Grieg. Together with Yvonne Troxler he recorded the Mörike poems set to music from Switzerland on CD for the occasion of the "Mörike-Jahres 2004". Other CD recordings include: Othmar Schoeck's musical comedy Erwin & Elmire with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra under the baton of H. Griffiths, works by Michael Haydn with the Zürcher Sängerknaben, Swiss Renaissance compositions with the Ensemble Musicalina and T.L. de Vittoria's Responsorials under S. Smith.
