- Teacher's diploma for organ under the tutelage of Herman Engel (with distinction)
- Four years training as a conductor under Dr. Ewald Körner, Bern, Jost Meier, Basel and Helmuth Rilling, Stuttgart
- In connection with the conductor training: double bass with Béla Szedlàk, trumpet with E. Gartmann, percussion with H. Urabl
- Voice under Ruth Pache, Arthur Loosli and Rosmarie Meister
- Study of microtonal music at the New England Conservatory Boston under Joe Maneri; Third Stream at the Gunther Schullers Institute, Boston
- Jazz pianist at the age of 17 and 18 at the International Jazz Festival, Zurich
- Initial positions as organist at various protestant churches, later a director of catholic church choirs
- Founding of the Thun College Choirs; 20 year occupation therewith
- Founding of the University of Bern Choir; 10 years occupation therewith
- Guest courses in conducting at the NEC in Boston; (exits from the teaching profession in 1997). Course for microtonal music, courses for concept improvisation, course for arrangement and composition.
