Inoculated with music in the early 60s with Beatles/Stones. From 1965 onwards "further education" through Frank Zappa, Roland Kirk, Miles Davis, Stockhausen's "Gesang der Jünglinge" and Lutoslawski's early choral works and many more.
1969 -1973 Apprenticeship as FEAM with simultaneous rock musician life as flutist and saxophonist with the groups "Wilhelm Tell" and "King Ubu's Farewell Ensemble" until 1975 .
From 1976 onwards, subsequent classical music studies (main subject flute, conducting, audio technology and chamber music) at the then Zurich Conservatory (ZHdK).
Teaching diploma 1980, concert diploma 1982. Hegar Prize 1982 and audition prizes from the Presidential Department of the City of Zurich 1980/81/83. From 1975 instrumental teacher at the youth music schools of Oberengstringen, Zumikon, Erlenbach and from 1984 to 2016 at the Kantonsschule Küsnacht and MNG Rämibühl Zurich.
Immediate main interest in contemporary music led to the founding of the "ensemble für neue musik zürich" in 1985, which I directed artistically until 2021.
With this ensemble about 350 world premieres of works by composers from more than 30 different countries and concerts at numerous festivals in Europe, Central Asia, Japan, China and Australia. CD productions with hat(now)ART (www.hathut.com) and many radio recordings for SRF2Kultur, Radio Kiev, Radio Odessa, Hongkong RTHK, BR, WDR etc. Work in the art context with Peter Regli (www.realityhacking.com).
Compositional work since 1974 (self-taught): "As a flautist and artistic director of the "ensemble für neue musik zürich" I have learned a lot from all the works performed and the collaboration with numerous composers from many countries and I am influenced by good U - and E-music of all styles".
