Michèle Rusconi dealt with many different types of music and lived in various
countries and continents.
1979 she was a member of the Gamelan orchestra in Basel. Two years later and already a student at Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA, where she majored in Jazz piano, she travelled to Bali for several months to study Grantang and Joged Bumbung (bamboo instruments).
From 1983-87 she lived in Madrid, played with Jazz ensembles, Rock bands and Flamenco singers.
In 1988 she moved to New York. She lived many years in Harlem, studied at City College with Ron Carter and learned with pianists Kenny Baron and Ronnie Matthews. She founded Jazz bands, played a lot of Salsa and Merengue and travelled twice to Haiti to play and study Compas, the traditional music of Haiti.
After living two years in Malysia, she returned to New York and got her BA in performing arts. David del Tredici from Juilliard School of Music became her teacher in composition.
Since 2000 she again lives in Switzerland. In 2003 she received her MA in composition at the Musikhochschule Freiburg where she had studied composition with Matthias Spahlinger and electronics with Mesias Maiguashca.
