* 02. 01. 1960.
After receiving his teaching and orchestral diploma and a concert diploma with distinction from the 'Musikhochschule Zürich' (Zurich School of Music) under H. Friedrich, Andreas Cincera commenced further training under F. Petracchi (Italy), G. Karr (Canada) and Duncan McTier (Great Britain). Following many years performing in various orchestras (including the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera House and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich) he appears today performing as a stylistically versatile soloist, improviser and chamber musician with, amongst others, the Collegium Novum and within the framework of small-theatre productions. He plays violone in both baroque and Viennese tuning. Cincera teaches at all levels at the 'Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana' and at the conservatory and music school of Zurich. He is an ISSVS advisor for school practice and as a supervisor in proxy for this organisation heads the Institute for Music and Pedagogic where he is responsible for music pedagogic consultancy, further education and research.
