Biografia

Andreas Nick was educated as a theory and piano teacher in Winterthur and Zurich. Further training as a director and composer was completed in Cologne under, amongst others, Hans Werner Henze.
Nick has taught theory at the 'Hochschule Winterthur-Zürich' since 1984. Numerous composition commissions from home and abroad and participation at various festivals followed the world premiere of his chamber opera ' Satyros' in Nuremberg in 1986. In 1985 he was awarded a sabbatical year from the city of Zurich. He founded the compositions class for children at the conservatory in Zurich in 1994 and since the world premiere of his children's opera 'D'Horchhäxe' (1988) has worked on numerous musical and theatrical projects with and for children.
