Ingeborg Poffet (accordion, vocals and composition) began singing and playing various instruments at a young age. She has performed solo accordion concerts since the age of four. From 1979 until 1983 she won several competition prizes, and from 1976 until 1973 she was composer for and conductor of various choir projects. She has played classic and contemporary literature as a soloist as well as in several orchestras since 1976 (1978 until 1981 soloist in the '1. Kölner Accordeon-Orchester'). She has taught accordion since 1976. She was schooled in modern pedagogic seminars and has developed her own teaching style, she has just created her own 'Schule für Konzertaccordeon' (school for concert accordion). She has been a member of various formations (accordion, vocals, keyboard, composition) since 1979. In 1981 she took her final exams in conducting at the Remscheid Academy. From 1984 until 1986 she studied computer music under Clarence Barlow at the music school in Cologne (Germany), she also collaborated on various computer music projects. Until 1987 she participated in many special training seminars for accordion with Hugo Noth, Mie Miki-Schenck, Guido Wagner, Elsbeth Moser and others. From 1986 until 1989 she worked in the electronic studios in Hamburg and Basel (music academies). In 1988 she participated in the computer music seminar in Berlin and Cologne. From 1988 until 1989 she was sound technician for the ensemble IGNM and 'Briefe aus dem toten Raum' with Serena Wey, actress. In 1989 together with JOPO she composed for 'Bericht eines Schiffbrüchigen' for quartet with Serena Wey. She played accordion for film music from Niki Reiser, Dani Levi, Dorís Dörrie, Daniel Detwiler & Ramon Schneider. Ingeborg Poffet lives, teaches concert accordion, vocals and theory in Basel and gives courses in aural training and mental training for musicians and a cappella at the music workshop in Basel. In 1989 she entered the group City/6/tett with tours in Switzerland and Turkey.
In 1989 She founded the formation 'Duo fatale' with her husband JOPO (alto sax, bass clarinet, composition). They conduct all their projects themselves and use exclusively their own compositions. Ingeborg Poffet has toured in Europe, Asia and Africa, participating at international festivals (Leipzig, St.Petersburg, Münster, Grenoble, Jakarta, Singapore, Khartoum, Odessa and many more) with various international radio and television productions (Izmir, Bologna, SWF, DRS, Moscow, Spain, Bandung, Jazz Swissmade, Bremerhaven, Odessa). 'Duo fatal' became 'Trio fatale Vision' after formation with Avant-garde, Ethno, classical, and rock musicians under the title 'Duo fatale meets international guests'. Since 1989 Duo fatale plus painter Heinz Schäublin received a financial award from the Alexander Clavel Foundation Riehen - Jardin lumière 1992; 2.Preis 'Kunstkredit Basel', 'NachtMachtPlatz' (1990) a multimedia formation with live performances 'fatale vision' at the international festivals of Smolensk (Russia), Pärnu (Estonia), Stuttgart, Singapore and exhibitions in Berowergut Riehen (Casa Obscura - Musica Magica 1994), in the exhibition room 'Klingenthal' (Sojourner´s Gallery 1998) and the old barracks at the 'Musikfestwochen Winterthur' (Sojourner´s Gallery 2000). Since 1991 and the formation of 'JAISH', JOPO and Ingeborg Poffet regularly play together on site with various Indian musicians, above all with Prakash Shejwal pakhavaj and Milind Sheorey bansouri (both from Bombay) with concerts in India (Bombay), Switzerland and Germany.
Since 1999 'Duo fatale meets percussion' with Barni Palm former percussionist of the group 'Brainticket', who returned to Switzerland after eighteen years residency in India. Concerts: 'Musikfestwochen Winterthur' 1999, 'Jazz à Mulhouse' 2000, 'Gundeldinger Kunsthalle' 2000 (Basel).
Since 1999 'KABA-QuARTett' with the musician Johannes Frisch from Karlsruhe (contrabass) and Michael Ströder (drums). Concerts at: 'Jubi' Karlsruhe, Parterre, Sudhaus, music workshop Basel in Basel (live recordings for Radio DRS March 2000). In 1997 she conducted and participated in the MKS-Vernetzungs-Orchester 'Frontières...' with JOPO.
In 1998 she conducted and participated in the Disabled Orchestra Sound Collages with JOPO.
In 1990, 1993 and 1997 she organised and participated in the international XOPF-Festivals in Basel.
Since 1989 she is manager of XOPF-Records and from 1997 until 2003 she delegated the single members of Swissperform.
In 1999, 2000 and 2001 she conducted and participated in the Disabled Orchestra 'Sound-Export with the Mega-Ram-Orchester' with performances at the Gundeldinger Casino in Basel, 'Wildwuchs-Festival' 2001 and in 'Parterre' in Basel.
In 2000 She was soloist and musician in the 'Klangkörper' Swiss pavilion Expo 2000 in Hannover.
