Biografia
* 19. 01. 1962.
Ivo Haag was born in the canton of Zug. He received his first lessons in piano from Cécile Hux, also in Zug. He studied at the conservatory and school of music in Zurich under Urs Voegelin (piano and chamber music) and attended the masterclass for song interpretation headed by Irwin Gage. Haag studied further under Edith Fischer and at the Franz lizst Academy Budapest with piano under Péter Solymos and chamber music under Ferenc Rados. He has attended masterclasses headed by András Schiff, György Kurtág, Aribert Reimann, Malcolm Frager, Brigitte Fassbaender etc..
Ivo Haag has concerted extensively as a soloist and chamber musician. He has however, for the past couple of years, performed almost exclusively in a piano duo together with his wife, the Hungarian pianist Adrienne Soós, and put in appearances with this formation at Schubertiade Feldkirch, the Musiktagen Mondsee (with András Schiff as the artistic director), the Lucerne Festival and the Davos Festival. His solo activities include collaborations with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata Bern, the Südwestdeutschen Kammerorchester Pforzheim and the Camerata Zürich under the direction of Howard Griffiths, Olaf Henzold, Räto Tschupp and others. Other occasional solo activities, for example in the season 2001/02, included repeated collaboration with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Howard Griffiths at such locations as the large concert hall of the Tonahalle Zurich and the KKL in Lucerne.
Ivo Haag has published various CD's under the pan classics and VDE Gallo labels with regular radio transmissions at home and abroad. He has won various prizes and awards and teaches at Lucerne School of Music.
