Racine Philippe

Genere: Musica Classica

Biografia
* 1958.

Philippe Racine studied flute in Basel and Paris. He is one of the most multifaceted musicians of his generation, not only is he a brilliant interpreter of the traditional flute repertoire, but also a dedicated advocate of present-day music - jazz and improvisation included. This diversity inevitably brought him into contact with musicians such as Ernesto Molinari, Heinz Holliger, Jürg Wyttenbach, Thomas Demenga, Andràs Schiff, Bruno Canino, Brigitte Meyer et al. together with whom he regularly performs. Philippe Racine appears performing as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe, Canada, the USA, Latin America and the Middle East. A remarkable discography and various radio & television productions lay testament to his extraordinary musicality.
Philippe Racine's activities additionally include composition. His works have been embraced with enthusiasm at international festivals for new music. "Promenade", his violin concert with the French violinist Raphaël Oleg as soloist, met with great success when it was performed at the Lucerne Festival in September 2001.
Philippe Racine teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts and lives in Paris.
