Biography
Petra Ronner attended the Rudolf Steiner School. She studied literature, musicology and art history and trained as a pianist under the tutelage of Gertrud Schneider, Tomas Bächli and Werner Bärtschi. Ronner works as an interpreter with emphasis on contemporary music. She has received commissions for works from the likes of Dieter Jordi, Mischa Käser, HU Lehmann, Annette Schmucki, Martin Wehrli and Alfred Zimmerlin and works continuously in a duo taking the role of singer, speaker, percussionist and pianist. From 1996 until 2000 she was an organiser at the Rote Fabrik Culture Centre in Zurich. She has been a member of the GNOM group for new music in Baden since 2002.
Petra Ronner's activities include: recordings, workshops, children's concerts, theatrical and installative works, music and sound concepts for art, room and theatre, and currently holds two teaching positions; one in piano at the cantonal school in Stadelhofen and one in 'Sound and Composition' at the interior design department of the HGK Basel.
