Biography

Daniel P. Andres was born in Biel near Bern. Following his teacher training in Bern he studied under Otto Schärer for his organ teachers diploma and under Professor Sandor Veress for his theory and composition teachers diploma. He is an organist in Biel.
From 1972 until 1977 and from 1984 until 1989 he was chapel-master / precentor at the 'Musiktheater Biel-Solothurn'. He has been the organist and leader of a church choir there since 1989 and is a music critic for the 'Bieler Tagblatt'. Andres has been invited as a guest conductor to Budweis, Teplice, Ostrava (CZ) and Sheboygan (USA), he has premiered with the Biel Symphony Orchestra, Sheboygan Symphony and the 'Nordböhmische Philharmonie' in Teplice. Daniel P. Andres is engaged intermittently as a journalist and is politically active.
