Ursula Seiler Kombaratov, qualified flutist, music pedagogue and composer was born in Berne and now lives in Basel together with her husband, the clarinettist Igor Kombaratov. She studied the transverse flute under the tutelage of K. Kasai, attended master classes held by Aurèle Nicolet in London, completed a study in composition headed by René Wohlhauser and attended a course for orchestral directing by Matthias Kuhn. Ursula Seiler Kombaratov is a freelance composer and publishes her work under her own label.
She regularly performs world premieres in Berlin, Munich, London and Switzerland as a member of the Ensemble Polysono (an ensemble for contemporary music). She also performs original compositions as a member of the duo 'verlenti' (flute and clarinet). Ursula Seiler Kombaratov is a flutist in the 'Kammerorchester der Regio Basiliensis' and the 'Mini Philharmonie Basel' - she can also be found performing in various chamber music formations.
As well as teaching at the Musikschule Huttwil, she also instructs a youth music group in Schlieren, one in Basel and school78 – all this in addition to her activities as a conductor of several ensembles.
Ursula Seiler Kombaratov is also an artist (ceramic painter), won a first prize in photography, took the public's prize for ceramic and was chosen for the exhibition 'Regioanle8' in Basel.

The 12 miniatures are suitable for students' first encounter with contemporary music. They contain flute-specific methodic-didactic aims. The little miniatures (e.g Ballons, Schneefall etc...) can be performed in any order. They are traditionally notated.
