Biography
* 05. 03. 1966.
Adrienne Soós was born in Hungary. Following initial piano instruction at the age of 11 she entered the Bartók Conservatory Budapest (Katalin Schweitzer) and later the Franz Liszt Academy Budapest (piano: Péter Solymos, chamber music: György Kurtág, Miklós Perényi and Ferenc Rados). She had a period of study in Bloomington (USA), further studies in Freiburg im Breisgau (Tibor Hazay) and attended masterclasses headed by András Schiff, György Sebök, Tamás Vásáry and Jacob Lateiner to mention a few.
In earlier years Soós was highly active in a duo together with the violinist Christine Busch receiving second prize at the 'Deutschen Hochschulwettbewerb' 1992, finalist at the Premio V. Gui, and the Florence and region Prize for Culture with this formation.
Adrienne Soós has concerted extensively as a soloist and chamber musician. She has however, for the past couple of years, performed almost exclusively in a piano duo together with her husband, the Swiss pianist Ivo Haag, and put in appearances with this formation at Schubertiade Feldkirch, the Musiktagen Mondsee (with András Schiff as the artistic director), the Lucerne Festival, the Davos Festival. Her solo activities include collaborations with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata Bern, the Südwestdeutschen Kammerorchester Pforzheim and the Camerata Zürich under the direction of Howard Griffiths, Olaf Henzold, Räto Tschupp and others. She has had diverse CDs published with regular radio transmissions at home and abroad.
